New video from a young friend: A Quest for Peace

Here is an outstanding film by a teenager I met in San Luis Obispo, CA.  Matthew J. Evans takes a look at one of the most pressing issues in our modern society: violence among religions. Through discussions with myself, and local religious leaders from the Central Coast of California, Matthew learns powerful lessons about nonviolence, acceptance, and cultural understanding. As my grandfather has said, ‘We must become the change we wish to see in our world!’ This film helps us understand how we can make these changes.

Hi Arun! Below is a link to the documentary I made featuring you called “A Quest for Peace: Nonviolence Among Religions”  I think it came out really well, and I can’t wait to hear your feedback. Thanks so much for allowing us to interview you, and give us such amazing material to work with. You did such a great job in the interview, and in your talk later the evening. I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet you.      Thanks again, Matthew

  1. You are very wise and an inspiration to evryoene. I like your excellent reference to Gandhi as it is simple but powerful in illustrating our responsibilities in creating our own destiny. I believe that issues around bullying are much deeper than the bullying itself. You have done an excellent job of reminding us all of this! Thank you.

Arun, i have to say i enjoy your writings very much, but find it hard to fololw you when you call for condemnation of Israel, based upon your prior criticisms. We need to stop allowing criticism of israel and their use of the holocaust as a bargaining chip to commit atrocities, to be seen as anti-semitic. we must condemn israel for vast human rights violations and deplorable backhanded agreements made with big business. we must not call this anti semitic. if anyone is damaging to holocaust survivors, it is certainly not you, Arun, rather the violent nation state of israel, who, upon receiving hundreds of millions in reparations to the victims of the holocaust, in turn spent large portions of this money on building a larger military, meanwhile, the remaining survivors of the holocaust living in israel, live on a stipend equivalent to $20 american, a month. israel needs to be criticized. Remember, america is a large force of destruction, but we couldn’t do it alone, and israel is taking advantage of that, to the fullest.
